The mission of Workforce Housing is to increase the quality and choices of housing in the Red Lodge area, provide the community with awareness of housing issues, and expand housing opportunities.

Money raised through the Fun Run will be used for the development of the CARES Homes, four permanently affordable long-term rental units that will be available for the local workforce.

Funding will help us achieve our goal of addressing the lack of available and affordable long-term rentals for the local workforce, especially in the wake of the pandemic. The whole community stands to benefit from additional housing that is affordable for members of our essential workforce.

Last year, funds raised through the fun run helped us successfully host an AmeriCorps VISTA member, Eric Allen, to update our Housing Needs Assessment and Strategic Plan, as well as develop the Owner-Built Housing volunteer program and assist with long-range planning and research.
