Red Lodge is extremely fortunate to have a number of nonprofit, volunteer organizations that make a significant and positive impact in our community. These 61 worthy organizations depend in large part upon donations made through the Annual Fun Run for Charities. This article describes those nonprofits that focus on preserving heritage and encouraging the arts.

Heritage Preservation: By preserving and sharing our history we can best remember our heritage. Broadway Flags brightens the Red Lodge Broadway corridor by displaying historical and patriotic flags honoring our founding immigrants, our Nation, and our visitors. Buses of Yellowstone Preservation Trust keeps local history alive with original Yellowstone Park buses and vehicles from the 1930’s and beyond. Carbon County Historical Society & Museum preserves and displays the history of Carbon County and provides educational programs and traveling exhibits for all ages. Finnish Keleva Park promotes the Finnish culture and traditions through preservation of the park and using it for family and community events.

Arts and Culture: Museums and art associations make the creative arts accessible to all. Carbon County Arts Guild & Depot Gallery supports, inspires and encourages artists and provides educational outreach programs.  Arts Education Fund supports individuals in our community who demonstrate talent, drive, and ambition to have successful artistic pursuits or careers. Music from the Beartooths brings music to Red Lodge throughout the year and at the same time supports young musicians who seek careers in classical music and jazz. The Red Lodge Friends of the Library works to preserve and strengthen the local library while creating additional awareness of library services. Red Lodge Music Festival provides financial assistance to students in need who would not otherwise be able to participate in the festival. The Red Lodge Theater Company uses funds to help with royalties, paper products, costuming, sets, back drops, and rentals used to provide the community with theatrical productions. Revitalize Old Roosevelt is a movement to convert the former school into a community arts, culture, and convention center that provides sustainable economic, educational, and cultural benefits to the community.

Sally Martin Match Fund:  If you cannot decide which organizations to support, keep in mind that a donation to the match fund benefits all 61 charities.
