Mission: The garden on the southwest corner of the Roosevelt Center property has a long history in Red Lodge, dating back to when the building was still active as a school. Over the years, many community volunteers and local kids have had their hands in the garden’s soil. Now, the garden has been revitalized with a new layout, solar panels that help cut down on the building’s carbon footprint and power bill, along with opportunities for kids at the Boys and Girls Club of Carbon County to learn about plants!

What are you fundraising for this year?

We are moving forward into Phase II of the Roosevelt Center Youth & Art Garden, and we have accomplished what we set out to do last year—revive the eyesore that was on the corner of Hauser and 17th street! Last year we were able to control the noxious weeds, build new redwood planter boxes, get donations for all new topsoil, lay new weed guard, and add all new clean mulch. This year we are fundraising for programming and a new drip system.

What impact will funds have on your mission and community?

We will be able to offer programming in the Youth & Art Garden each week for the Boys & Girls Club.

If you participated last year, what did you use the funds for?

This is our first year in the Fun Run!

Fundraising Goal: $2,000
