Mission: River Arts & Books is a community-driven nonprofit organization nestled along the East Rosebud Canyon in rural Montana. Our mission is to inspire creativity and foster a love for reading, writing, and dialogue through literature and cultural engagement. By revitalizing a historic 1894 settler cabin into a vibrant cultural hub, we have created a space that bridges the past and present, serving as a beacon for artistic expression and community connection in an area traditionally underserved by arts programming.
What are you fundraising for this year?
We are fundraising for our annual operation fund. Contributions to this will be vital to sustaining our daily operations, which include programming, staff salaries, bookshop management, utilities, and administrative overhead. These core elements are essential for the successful delivery of our mission.
What impact will funds have on your mission and community?
Since our inception in 2023, we have successfully launched impactful arts programming, bringing over 700 people through the doors since we officially opened last summer. Our initiatives have included monthly literary events, writing workshops, and community gatherings that have attracted diverse audiences from across Carbon and Stillwater counties. By bringing recognized authors, speakers, and artists to Roscoe, we democratize access to the arts and humanities, fostering cultural enrichment, community building, and economic support for the region.
If you participated last year, what did you use the funds for?
This is our first year in the Fun Run!
Fundraising Goal: $2,000
