Experience reading in a whole new way!

The Red Lodge Area Community Foundation is proud to partner with the Red Lodge Carnegie Library to provide the Reading Adventure Backpack Program. Reading Adventure Backpacks are geared towards kids ages 0-5, with a focus on bringing families together through reading. Each backpack contains several books centered around a specific theme and a craft, a game, puzzle, or similar activity along the same theme. These backpacks provide opportunities for parents to engage their children and have fun learning together. The backpacks will be available for checkout for a two-week period.

The Imagination Library was founded by Dolly Parton and promotes early literacy by mailing children ages 0-5 a free book every month. Children are exposed to new ideas and their world is expanded through receiving the special gift of a new book monthly. Currently, 80 children are enrolled in the program including 64 families, with 3 families in Bridger, 1 in Boyd, 8 in Bridger, 3 in Fromberg, 10 in Joliet, 3 in Roberts, 1 in Silesia, and 35 in Red Lodge. Any child age 0-5 in Carbon County is welcome to participate, and sign-ups for the program are available at libraries in Bridger, Joliet, and Red Lodge.
