Red Lodge Hosts 2017 Fun Run 14 Supporting Local Charities – “Giving for Good”
Red Lodge is extremely fortunate to have a number of nonprofit, volunteer organizations that make a significant and positive impact in our community. These 56 worthy organizations depend in large part upon donations made through the Annual Fun Run for Charities. This article describes those nonprofits that allow for the continued evolution and growth of our community.
Ready Go Sports. Being active builds healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Beartooth Little League assists youth in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. It instills the virtues of character, courage and loyalty to develop superior citizens rather than stellar athletes. City Pool Endowment is a permanent endowment to provide long-term operational support of the community pool to benefit all ages and abilities. Eagle Mount Billings enhances the lives of individuals with disabilities through recreation. Red Lodge Ice provides outdoor winter family entertainment for residents and visitors to Carbon County through a safe, fun and always improving ice rink. Red Lodge Skate Park is comprised of a dedicated group of volunteers working to ensure a safe and fun park for all ages and abilities. Donations provide funds for park improvements, maintenance and events. Red Lodge Special Olympians provides year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Money raised is used for start-up costs including uniforms and practice jerseys, as well as transportation, food and lodging at events and competitions. Red Lodge Youth Soccer provides athletic, competitive and recreational activity for local kids and provides a sport that stands alone as an alternative to other competitive sports. Donations help support scholarships to ensure all kids who sign up can play regardless of ability to pay. Silver Run Ski Education Foundation provides quality, team-based skiing experiences for all interested area athletes.
