Four Montana Counties Partner to Bring Free Developmental Tips and Local Events to Parents’ Cell Phones with Bright by Text Program
Did you know that a child’s brain develops faster in early childhood than it will at any other point in their life? In fact, 90% of brain development happens by age 5. The interactions that a child has with adult caregivers at this stage of their life set the foundation on which all later learning, behavior, and health depends.
The Early Childhood Committee has teamed up with Best Beginnings coalitions in Big Horn, Dawson, and Yellowstone Counties to bring Bright by Text to Carbon County! The program has launched in several other states and offers parents and caregivers parenting tips, developmental texts and local resources for children prenatal to age 5.
Bright by Text helps parents and caregivers have positive interactions with their young children by illustrating fun and easy activities, providing positive parenting tips and resources, tips for aiding a child’s physical development, and much more. The program is proven to build nurturing caregiver-child relationships and positively impact a child’s healthy development and school readiness.
In addition to expert content, Bright by Text includes messages about events and resources specific to Carbon County such as: health clinics, preschool enrollment periods, and free events for families.
To sign up, text 406Parents to 274448. You will receive 2 to 5 text messages per week, each message includes a link to a landing page with more detail, short modeling videos, and links to related resources. 92% of parents who enrolled in Bright by Text said they felt more confident as a parent!
