Fun Run 2016 is fast approaching, mark your calendars for Saturday, September 3rd for a fun-filled day of running, walking, mixing it up with your neighbors and supporting the local charities that serve us all. This year marks the 13th annual Fun Run for Charities, sponsored by the Red Lodge Area Community Foundation.
Red Lodge and Carbon County are fortunate to have many organizations that serve the needs of citizens. The Red Lodge Area Community Foundation leads the way with a mission to connect people and build community by developing and supporting programs in the arts, youth and early childhood, poverty, community health, and volunteerism. Revitalize Old Roosevelt is an important example of bringing together diverse community members to develop a community asset that will provide space for the performing arts and be a community center. The Sally Martin Match Fund benefits all of the participating organizations and is a way to make sure your contributions benefit the entire community. The Roberts Community Foundation serves the Roberts community and school and works to support and enhance life for Roberts residents.
Serving those who face challenges in life, Beartooth Industries and Housing provides opportunities and independent living for those with developmental disabilities. The Senior Ark Fund helps support seniors with financial assistance in emergencies or when something unexpected arises that strains a limited or fixed income. Operation Second Chance serves our wounded, injured, and ill combat veterans and their families.
Making Red Lodge inviting to visitors and expressing pride in our community are Red Lodge Proud and Beautiful and the Red Lodge Broadway Flag Committee are all about. Red Lodge Proud and Beautiful provides garbage cans, flower baskets and decorations for Broadway Ave. The Red Lodge Broadway Flag Committee makes sure there are beautiful, well-maintained flags hanging along Broadway. The flags enhance the street and celebrate the diverse heritage of our town.
