Dear Red Lodge Fun Run Supporters and Friends,
The Moose is ready to run on August 30, 2008!
This year is the 5th annual Red Lodge Fun Run for Charities in the beautiful mountain town of Red Lodge, Montana. The Red Lodge Area Community Foundation (RLACF) is revving up for the big event.
Hope Smith and Sarah Ewald, Fun Run Chairwomen, are meeting with our participating nonprofits, assigning responsibilities, and finalizing arrangements.
The 2008 entry forms are printed and placed at locations including the Chamber of Commerce in Red Lodge and all the major sporting goods stores in Billings. Completed entry forms can be mailed to PO Box 1871, Red Lodge, MT 59068, or left at the Chamber of Commerce.
Easier still, you can register for the race online. Go to www.RedLodgeFunRun.org and click on "Register to Run/Walk." This year, activenetwork.com is handling online registration, and the process is very streamlined. You will even receive an email confirmation shortly after you register. Registration is free with a donation, and the online registration will link you to information about all of the participating nonprofits and what the Fun Run means to them-so you can donate to specific groups or make a single donation for all.
In 2007, the Fun Run attracted 900 attendees, and we distributed $176,000 to our participating nonprofits from runner/walker donations and matching funds. Match donors are special to the Fun Run. Individuals, corporations, and foundations contribute funds that "matched" the dollars donated by the race participants. Match donations leverage runner/walker donations and make possible the large amounts of support that our nonprofits receive.
Our goal this year: 1,000 attendees and $212,000 to our nonprofits.
