Red Lodge Hosts 2017 Fun Run 14 Supporting Local Charities – “Giving for Good”

Red Lodge is extremely fortunate to have a number of nonprofit, volunteer organizations that make a significant and positive impact in our community. These 56 worthy organizations depend in large part upon donations made through the Annual Fun Run for Charities. This article describes those nonprofits that promote a healthy community in which we can safely reside and work.

Safe and Healthy Community. The following organizations make it possible to continue to have a safe, positive and enriching place for us to live. Donations to Beartooth Billings Clinic Foundation will make it possible to purchase new Cardiac Care equipment and system updates to assure patients receive the best care possible. Community Care is a mobile health project committed to caring for the health needs of our community. Domestic and Sexual Violence Services gives assistance to victims of abuse and promotes healthy, equitable and violence-free relationships to provide safer homes and a safer community. Red Lodge Area Food Partnership Council is raising funds for a position within the school to incorporate nutrition-based curriculum and experiential learning, such as the Youth Garden, in order to educate youth about the benefits of eating fresh, nutritious food. Red Lodge EMS Association provides logistical, training, financial and/or other support to the ambulance service serving Red Lodge Ambulance District in Carbon County. Red Lodge Search and Rescue serves Carbon County in the many facets of wilderness emergency by lending services to all persons in situations dangerous to life, limb or property; training and equipping teams; and assisting the Sheriff as needed. Donations received by REWIND – Recycle Electronic Waste Into New Devices will help offset the collection and shipping costs necessary to secure a certified recycler to conduct the annual electronics recycling event and will minimize charges to the public. Red Lodge Volunteer Firefighters Association is raising funds for the development of a training center where members can develop and hone skill and tactics in a safe but realistic environment.
