SERVING THE GOOD OF COMMUNITY

The Red Lodge Area Community Foundation (RLACF) is an endowment fund serving the surrounding areas and the community of Red Lodge Montana. This region features the “peaks to prairie” landscape of south-central Montana. It is home to farmers and ranchers, artists and writers, descendants of mining families, newcomers from east and west, and people who grew up here, left to seek their fortunes, and returned to their roots, with many people maintaining second homes here.

Alongside its natural beauty and informal way of life, the Red Lodge area and community face serious challenges at this time in its history. Growth brings new economic opportunities while it also creates new demands for services. Red Lodge sometimes struggles to provide the same array of programs that larger cities can offer because of their greater resources: wholesome activities for young people, job opportunities, public infrastructure, care for the elderly, cultural activities, and more.

But the people here share a long-standing tradition: when faced with challenges, Red Lodge folks seek to confront them and work together. The Red Lodge Area Community Foundation (RLACF) intends to carry on this tradition; serving the community through the granting process to provide the financial means to find solutions to these challenges.

The Red Lodge Area Community Foundation (RLACF) is very grateful for the kind and generous support of the Red Lodge Fun Run for Charities in 2007. We thank last year's participants for running or walking the race and for unselfishly sharing in the form of a donation to your favorite charity/charities in order to enhance the quality of life in our community - you definitely make a difference!

Your overwhelming generosity makes a big difference in the small town of Red Lodge and the surrounding community. In all instances the dollars granted helped a non profit achieve a goal that might not have happened without your financial support.

This year the Red Lodge Area Community Foundation would like to be able to grant $140,000 plus to these charities. We are hoping that you will help us achieve this goal that benefits so many organizations. Thank you for your generous support. It is very needed and appreciated! See you on Race Day!
