Mission: Our mission is to provide education, research, lodging and dining facilities for field courses in the natural sciences and for community and professional organizational workshops and conferences.

What are you fundraising for this year?

Yellowstone Bighorn Research Association directs all Red Lodge Fun Run charitable donations to “YBRA’s Teacher Workshop”, which provides science educators with the opportunity to enhance their understanding of Earth Science, implement science standards, and provide renewal units/recertification credits.

What impact will funds have on your mission and community?

To pay for all costs, i.e., Teacher and workshop fees. Field base science and hands-on learning. The workshop is a collaboration between YBRA, Rocky Mountain College, Montana public school teachers, and the MT Dept. of Education. This has the ability to impact thousands of students over the years.

If you participated last year, what did you use the funds for?

Last years funds are going to a teachers workshop. This offering is a free 3 day teacher’s workshop where they can earn OPI renewal credits for professional development. Instruction from university and industry professionals, geoscientists, and experts about climate and local resiliency will be based both in the classroom and in the field. They will come away with project materials and resources that they can bring back into their classrooms. All of this workshop will be done while staying at the picturesque National Historic Registered Yellowstone Bighorn Research Association campus.

Fundraising Goal: $2,000
