The West Fork Road, after the intersection with the Ski Run Road, must be plowed by private individuals.  It is a Forest Service Road but the Service does not plow it.  A group of individuals has been paying to plow it for the last 8 years, even though it is used by hundreds of people during the winter season to access the Silver Run and Nichols Creek trails and the West Fork Road beyond the closure at the Girl Scout Camp.  Friends of the West Fork Winter Recreation has been created under RLACF sponsorship to raise funds to keep the West Fork Road plowed, that is, safe and accessible for winter recreation.  If you ski, snow shoe, walk a dog, or ski mobile out the West Fork, please consider making a Fun Run donation to keep the West Fork plowed in the winter.
