Help keep CART on the Road

CART provides public transportation to county citizens of all ages and abilities who need a ride someplace in and around Carbon County. Rides are available five days a week within the county and additionally to Billings for medical appointments three times a week.

CART is currently the ONLY public transportation service offered within the county.

Montana has endured a recent wave of assisted living facility closures, with three facilities closing in the area.  CART is an essential service that helps residents age in their local communities.

Without CART, many of our neighbors are unable to meet basic daily needs like going to the grocery store, pharmacy, doctors’ appointments, post office, and social gatherings at the senior center to combat the debilitating effects of isolation.

Despite State and Federal funding provided through the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), business and individual donations, Fun Run donations, passengers paying what they can, AND a reduction in staff, a funding gap still exists.

CART has now operated for two years in a row with a deficit of $50,000 each year and cannot continue to carry the deficit for a third year.

Without additional public support, this essential service may well be discontinued.

Will you help CART stay on the road for your neighbors by donating today? Thanks to a generous donor, all donations made by April 30th will be doubled up to $25,000
